King Street West will be closed from Peter Street to University Avenue Thursday, September 6, 2018 5am to Monday, September 10, 2018 5am for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Festival Street. There will also be closures of King Street in afternoon rush hour on Monday, September 10, 2018 and Tuesday, September 11, 2018 for red carpet events. Toronto Transit Commission streetcar routes 504 King, 304 King and 514 Cherry will be detouring westbound via York Street, Queen Street, Spadina Avenue and eastbound via Spadina Avenue, Queen Street, Church Street. 503 Kingston Rd will be detouring via Church Street, Wellington Street and York Street. Supplemental shuttle bus service will operate on 304 King night streetcar from 2am to 6am via Richmond Street West and Adelaide Street West. Severe delays are expected on the 501 Queen, 502 Downtowner, 503 Kingston Road, 504 King and 514 Cherry streetcar routes. In past years, delays of up to 1 hour have been reported on streetcars in this area during rush hour. Alternate routes: 509 Harbourfront to Exhibition, Lakeshore West GO train to Exhibition, north/south bus and streetcar routes, and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth subway. The King Street "pilot project" will remain in effect on the portions of King Street which remain open between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street; turning left and going straight is prohibited at most intersections. No subway Line 1 St Clair to Lawrence September 8-9 and no subway Line 2 St George to Broadview September 9 before 12pm.
