This event is a road race and will block cross-traffic on all cross streets (including pedestrians)
except where a bridge or tunnel exists over or under the road.
Road closures for Sporting Life 10K Sunday, May 12, 2019 include Yonge Street from Lawrence Avenue to Richmond Street in both directions and sections of Richmond Street West, Peter Street/Blue Jays Way, Front Street West, Bathurst Street, Fort York Boulevard and Fleet Street. Yonge Street will be closed north of Eglinton Avenue from 4:30am to 10am and south of Eglinton Avenue from 7:15am to 11:30am. This event starts at 7:30 and will use a wave start system where there are brief gaps between each of 7 groups of several thousand runners each, but this event will still make it very difficult to cross the street. Use pedestrian tunnels through subway stations at Eglinton, Bloor, College, Dundas and Queen, PATH tunnels, or the Beltline Trail bridge at Davisville to cross the 10K route. Expect detours or severe delays on ALL Toronto Transit Commission streetcar routes except 509 Harbourfront and numerous bus routes. Before the subway opens at 8am, the 320 Yonge night bus will run via Mount Pleasant Road and Jarvis Street. Information for participants: The start line is located on Yonge Street at Roselawn Avenue (north of Eglinton Avenue). Since the event starts at 7:30am while the subway starts running at 8am, it is not possible to take the subway to the start line. Please take the 320 Yonge night bus; keep in mind that the night bus will be detouring via Mount Pleasant Road and leave extra time. Please be advised that parking is very limited in this area.
